As Christians, we are informed by what we have been taught. In John 5 we are encouraged to prove what we believe to be true. We are asked to seek the Scripture for in the Scripture we find eternal life. What might appear to be new and strange at first, might when compared to Scripture be the truth that is sent to set us free.

JOHN 5:39
39    Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

I THESSALONIANS 5:18-21
18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 19 Quench not the Spirit. 20 Despise not prophesyings. 21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

II PETER 1:19-21
19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: 20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake [as they were] moved by the Holy Ghost.

MATTHEW 6:33
33    But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

ACTS 28:22
22  But we desire to hear of thee what thou thinkest: for as concerning this sect, we know that every where it is spoken against.
